The Meaning

“2021 A.D.” takes you through the darkness of my earliest childhood into a brighter revelation of a mysterious, yet compassionate, spiritual being, which took me time to understand and receive. It describes how my personal experiences expressed a spiritual dichotomy as depicted in my painting 2021 A.D., which is the basis of this short story. This book takes you through a similar spiritual journey as The Secret That Kills / Spirit That Saves but is more specific to the original “2021 A.D.” painting.

The Process

At first, I began to write a short synopsis of the meaning behind the original painting (of the same name) for this website. As I continued to write, it became obvious that this was actually a short story that needed to be told in addition to the description of the piece. This also helped me realize that I wanted to continue to write stories based upon my spiritual illustrations (paintings).

I believe this book is a pivital point in my life in understanding how to combine both my artistic and literary pursuits.
